“Be really whole and all things will come to you.” Lao Tzu
Struggling with an ill-conceived idea for a blog post, I glanced up and saw this quote above my desk. It came to me. So now I’m writing about it instead.
What does it mean to "be really whole?” That’s something I consider often, especially when I’m feeling scattered in a million directions, and Really Whole feels like a pipe dream. But sitting here quietly, reading the words…I pause. Breathe. Really Whole is here and now. No muss, no fuss.
Wholeness (holiness) is available whenever we are able and willing to take a moment and drop into it.
And when it doesn’t seem available, there’s an opportunity to explore the obstacles and overcome them. As an opportunity, we don’t have to take it. But it’s here. An invitation to occupy the only moment that is (now), and the only space (inside).
As we explore and practice this moment and this space, our hearts and minds open to all opportunities. “All things.” We aren’t trapped in the same old stories about who we are, what we deserve, what we want, and what we need to do, fix, change, or manage. We aren’t distracted by dreams of past or future moments.
Inside and now, we are Really Whole, fully realized and free.
